How do you manage translation projects?
Each client is assigned a senior project manager (SPM) as the main contact for the life of your project/business. The ABLE SPM, a veteran to our industry with minimum experience of having managed at least $1.5M/year in translation projects, will provide the project plan and schedule for your approval, assemble the appropriate team(s) for your project (including translators, editors, engineers, testers and DTP specialists), supervise the project, communicate project status through regular reports, coordinate in-country reviews, ensure change requests are implemented and all deliverables meet our

To ensure consistency in terminology, we use the same team of native, subject-matter experts for the translation and editing of your software and user interface as we do your user manuals, training guides, packaging and marketing collateral. Where and how will the translation, localization, and
quality assurance take place?
For best linguistic quality, our translation and editing
teams are located in the country of the target language. This
ensures that our linguists are not only native speakers and
trained translators, but also up to date with the latest use
of the target language. (Languages evolve at a constant rate
and it is important for a linguist to be exposed to these
changes on a daily basis.)
ABLE conducts extensive quality assurance (QA) throughout
the life cycle of your project. Through our unique infrastructure
of technical and linguistic skills, ABLE offers both linguistic
and technical QA for your help systems, software, and Websites.
Although QA processes are customized for each individual project,
our QA process typically includes the following:
- Management and tracking of files between customers, project
managers, translators, editors, desktop publishers and engineers,
through the use of our secure, online Document Transfer
System (DTS). We log all events, provide secure access and
document archiving, and maintain strict control of and access
to the process. In addition, DTS provides automatic email
notification to recipients when documents are uploaded to
the DTS site.
- Detailed instructions and product training for each member
of the translation team. In addition to sending the translatable
files to the translation team, ABLE engineers can provide
contextual information using screen shots (when appropriate)
- Quality control checklists and best practices by everyone
who is assigned to your project. At ABLE, we believe in
building quality in instead of testing quality out.
- A translated glossary of terms to complement our translators'
knowledge of the application, the reference material, and
subject-matter expertise.
- A translation editor with translation memory for every
member of the translation team, to ensure consistency, speed,
and cost-savings.
- Implementation of our three-step linguistic workflow,
which includes translating, editing, and verification, to
ensure highly accurate and culturally appropriate translations.
- A review of the completed files by ABLE Innovation's
project management and engineering teams before the final
files are delivered to the customer.
Formal linguistic testing of your software and associated Help
will be handled by our testing team in the US.
How are changes handled during the project?
As soon as we receive new/updated files from you, we will
perform a complete analysis and submit a change request form
based on the nature of the changes and the time/cost impact,
if any, on the project cycle. If the change request increases
the cost of the project by at least 10%, your approval, in
writing, is required before work resumes on your new files.
All changes will be incorporated as the translation technology
we employ ensures for smooth updates without loss of any previous
translation work. In short, we create a sentence-based translated
"glossary" (called Translation Memory or TM). This
TM will be applied to your changed files so all existing translations
will be leveraged against the new material.
What is your record for delivering on time?
100% Satisfaction. We guarantee it. If ABLE is responsible
for late delivery, we will discount the project price by a
percentage for every business day we are late.
How accurate are your estimates?
Very accurate. We provide fixed-price proposals for translation/localization
services. You have no risk. The only time there are changes
to the investment stated is when you make changes to the scope.
