Why would I use ALTA Platform over existing methods?

Existing methods require multiple caregivers to exert back-breaking effort. Current methods are unsafe, and it is difficult to enforce a “standard of care”. Current transfer methods also require multiple staff to be present, which is increasingly difficult as facilities are increasingly short-staffed.

The ALTA allows a single operator to transfer patients independently, in a safe, effortless and automated fashion. This eliminates the burden associated with recruiting additional staff. Moreover, the ALTA is easy to use and its intelligent systems add additional layers of safety. This reduces injuries, prolongs careers and also offers greater clinical efficiencies.

How does the ALTA increase clinical efficiency?
In most transfers today, there is a downtime associated with recruiting a team that can adequately and safely conduct transfers. Lack of available resources often result in long wait times to recruit staff, and they often over-exert themselves by doing transfers without adequate resources. The ALTA eliminates the need for additional staff – allowing one operator to independently conduct the same transfers. This significantly reduces the wait-time and increases clinical throughput and profitability. One example of where such features could be highly desirable is placing the ALTA within an inpatient CT Scan suite.
Is the ALTA complicated to use?
No, it is designed with the operator in mind which makes it easy to use. Further, it requires minimal training, and is intuitive.
How long does it take to transfer a patient with the ALTA?

It takes 1 caregiver approximately 2 minutes to complete a transfer.

Can the ALTA transfer bariatric patients?

The ALTA can transfer patients weighing up to 350 lbs. Future development will be focused on increasing this limit.

Does the patient need to be able to bear weight or help themselves in some way to be transferred?
No, there is no physical effort required from the patient during the transfer.
Can the patient’s gown or hair get caught during a transfer?
The ALTA has safety mechanisms in place to immediately pause the transfer in the event that a material obstruction is detected.
How many transfers can ALTA conduct on a full battery charge?
The ALTA can perform 70 transfers on a full single charge. This varies depending on SmartMoov utilization.
Where do I store the ALTA?
The ALTA can be kept in the footprint of a regular stretcher in a nearby space that is convenient for retrieval as needed for patient transfers.
